The Clothes Hug
“The Clothes Hug”
“The pajamas we fit in,
the jeans we tuck out, have had too much of our childhood with synthetic shots,
mom’s heels a platform to dance to rhythmic songs, so lame were our excuses to
be just in our pajamas”.
May be the only thing,
after food of course, that makes our eyes pop out are “clothes”. I’ll come to
the style factor later. But even without topping our priority list “our wear”
has stuck with us stronger than the fevi bond.
Let’s just erase out
today’s fashion trends and ramp walks. Remember? The walk with dad’s shoes on
or the amma’s saree run? Dadi’s glasses and grandpa’s pattapatti chaddi’s on? (P.S:
I really don’t know what they call those in English :p )
Those day’s when “hash tag
ethnic wear” were almost every day, but nobody exclaimed it as “uff, not my
style”, “old fashioned”, or it wasn’t just for DSLR frames.
Westernization has hit
us so hard that 90% of our Indian Clothing styles have been named “uncomfortable”.
They are packed in suitcases or have held the corner of our wardrobe. In this
case boys are no exception, though they don’t seem to agree.
Dhoti and saree to
pagdi and salwar, no country can beat us from our color war. The diversity of
fabric just in our country opens its doors to million combinations that can fit
in to all categories of today’s requirements – Comfort, go-to-wear, office
looks, party wears and so on.
It’s just the matter of
loving your origin.
The authentic Indian
style is just made right to fit in our skin, embrace us with love and shower us
with our deep rooted culture.
In our photo of life,
we have painted us with the innumerable filters available, now, let’s just get
back to the original one and frame it until the very end of our lives. Let us
empower the world with our Indian scent.
